Truly a weird one. Especially the first five minutes of the original work/excerpt have to be one of the most amazing minimalist adventures I have had in recent music. The atmosphere of the cover photo is 1:1 translated into audio material. Cold and clear air mixing with drops of condense water in a concrete monument. A simply amazing experience.

This album captures my mind and soul so powerfully I'm left numb, speechless, tears welling in my eyes. It's as if the ghosts of my grandparents just appeared before me to say "I love you" one last time. I adore every second of this album but the title track at the end took me to a whole different level. Clara is an absolute masterpiece of art.

I always end up saying the same things when I try to write about loscil. "Tense," "calm," "energy," "gentle," "goddamn amazing," etc. There is much familiarity to be found here from various pieces of his back catalogue, yet these four pieces still sound and feel new, and LUX Refractions is forward movement. It's tense and ener- aw hell.
